Can a person feel heavier or more weight against them at the deeper end of a swimming pool?
burlkitten414 asked:
This might just be psychological, but I have felt like there was more weight against me while swimming and/or treading water at the deeper end of my college swimming pool than at the shallower end? Is there some truth to this?

basically you are feeling gravity pulling you down due to the fact that the water is amplifing the effect. Water itself will resemble more of a weightless sensation much like a free fall. After a certain point you will feel more weighted if you are under water because of the pressure but thats really about it.

If you are at the surface, it doesn’t matter how much water is beneath you.

It’s a psychological reaction to the greater depth, a kind of sub-conscious fear that you can’t touch bottom.
The amount of water you displace whether you’re in 5ft of water or 500ft, your buoyancy is the same.
