How do I stop my dogs from drinking swimming pool water?

My three basset hounds keep drinking water out of our swimming pool. They have fresh water, but they seem to like the pool water better. We have tried everything we can think of… we put an extra bowl out by the pool… and everything but they still drink out of the pool… I know that the clorinated water cannot be good for them… any advice on making them stop?

I know there is stuff that tastes bad that you can put on stuff, but I’m not sure about in a pool… :/

The pool and drown keep them to get out once in and drown keep them away from the water probably wont harm them no more than they drink the bigger danger is that they would soon become exhausted and if nobodys home they drink.

Watch them closer and tell them NO as soon as thso much as look like they’re going to get a drink.
That’s what I did and neither one trys anymore.

There have been countless dogs/cats drinking from countless pools in countless places. I never heard or read a word about it being harmful. Vets would be cautioning us to keep our animals from doing that. Where did YOU hear it’s bad for them?
