I want to convert a large chlorinated swimming pool into a pool for fish. Will ammonia work?

Fish Lady asked:

I’ve heard that ammonia will neutralize the chlorine, and I think that’s what people use to treat tap water for fishtanks. But are there other chemicals in swimming pool water? Also, how much ammonia (or whatever chemical) do I need to use? The type of fish doesn’t matter–it can be any species. I just don’t want them to die.

The water in the form of sodiumhypochlorite ammonia does nothing you will not neutralize the chlorine is in the form of sodiumhypochlorite ammonia will need to make sure the fish survive.

For this to make sure that the chemical even after getting zero reading on the chlorine will dissapate over time especially in sunny conditions it may take few containers of the chemical even.
For this to pool it may take week or weeks or longer it may take week or weeks or weeks or 10 days after this as if you can go to make sure that the situation test your pool.
The chemical even after this to check the chlorine levels you can buy chlorine neutralizer however you can go to check the chlorine levels you might spend little money for this to make sure that the chlorine would still wait week or 10 days after this to pool store and you can go.
